Fi

Skyward Sword spoilers in the description, read at your own risk.
So... Skyward Sword! I finished it earlier this year, and mostly enjoyed it. I don't want to talk about the game though, I want to talk about Fi, which was a big disappointment.

First of all, let me say that I really like Fi's design, ever since I first saw her on that first teaser poster.
Secondly, Midna is my favorite Zelda character. Like, easily. So I never really expected Fi to be better than that, but... I expected something. Fi's personality is that she has no personality. She talks like a machine and with precise calculations all the time. Now, I don't think that's necesarily bad, and I don't mind these kind of characters, but making the main sidekick like that is pretty tiring, and gets old real fast.

Very early in the game, I came across this great scene:
[link] I absolutely loved it, and it got me thinking: What if this insult was actually intentional? What if Fi had a crush on Link and took jabs like these at Zelda (and maybe other girls too) all the time? I think it would've made her character a lot more enjoyable if she was more imature, but still intelligent at the same time. Dunno, that's just how I feel about it. As it is, I don't dislike Fi (like a lot of people seem to), but she just feels like a waste of a good design. I literally felt nothing when she went away at the end of the game, and while that was to be expected, I wanted to. I really did.

About the drawing, consider the main thing the true Fi from the game, and everything else what I would've like her to be. Hope you enjoy it anyway!
